HTTP, queues and managed services can provide the quickest route to a working deployment. Their network and failure semantics remain explicit in the connectors.

2. Consolidate stable workloads

Steady or data-sensitive components can move when owned capacity, latency, regulation or cost makes that attractive. Only connectors crossing a changed boundary need a new realization.

3. Run the whole application on one machine

When the workload fits, the architecture can become one process with local connectors. The application retains its shape while shedding distributed machinery.

The cloud paradox

The cloud lowers the cost of starting while sometimes raising the cost of staying. A single capable machine can serve workloads that were divided early into services, queues and clusters.
